May Fun!

Well, now that Clayton and Chloe are a year, I think I'll shorten my monthly posts and focus on our lives as a family instead of just Clayton and Chloe. We had a month full of celebrations following their big first birthday. Mother's Day was a beautiful day. The dads (my dad, Ryan, and Kyle) took the moms to Fleming's for a delicious brunch. We then walked around Fashion Island and later had Ryan's mom and grandma over for a bbq. It was a fun, relaxing day. My gift was a super fancy Canon SLR camera. I absolutely love it! It takes incredible pictures and doesn't stall, ever! Our next celebration was my 30th birthday. Ryan took me to see Hangover 2, on a shopping spree, and then to P.F. Changs for dinner. It was a really nice date and probably my longest time away from Clayton and Chloe. Ryan then surprised me with a birthday party with many of my friends and family. I was super surprised and had such an amazing time. I have such beautiful people in my life. Ryan worked so hard on the party and truly covered every one of his bases...love my husband!

Clayton is walking everywhere now...he has the cutest drunken walk that recently has become somewhat of a run! It has quickly become his favored mode of transportation. He can dunk on his basketball hoop, put puzzle pieces back somewhere near their correct spot, bang toys together, and give you toys on command. He speaks his own language, one which Chloe seems to totally understand. Clayton is always holding something--his blankie, his ball, his car, his sippy cup, something, always! He loves going to the park and climbing on anything and everything he can climb on. Clayton deliberately says "da da," "ma ma," and "na na na" (no). He has mastered the art of the temper tantrum and has even had a few time outs or at least Mommy's version of a time out. Clayton loves to be outside and especially loves all of the new fun toys decorating our backyard.

Chloe has grown leaps and bounds in the last month. She is pulling up on everything, cruising and transitioning from one piece of furniture to the next, climbing the stairs (it's quite a sight to see Clayton and Chloe "racing" to the top of the stairs), climbing up and down steps (definitely took a lot of practice and a few bumps for her to get the confidence to do it), walks with assistance and still has a perfectly precise little crawl. Chloe says "da da and "ma ma" deliberately and loves to pull up on Mommy's knees crying "ma ma ma." She loves talking to Clayton and especially loves talking to him in his crib. He has been looking over at her for months and now she finally can stand up and look at Clayton. This newfound realization of the other allows for quite a few minutes of happy crib play time in the morning. She does "so big" on command by raising her cute little arms up in the air, waves hi and bye and even attempts to say it, and loves clapping for herself and banging toys together. Both babies clap whenever Mommy says "yay." I'm hoping all of our signs we've been working on will start to click now.

The joy Clayton and Chloe bring to our lives amazes me each and every day...here's a little look at May.

Happy Mother's Day!

Splish splash we were taking a bath...

Big man on the move and hanging out with his best friend, Ra Ra.

Mommy is on a mission to change the newborn pictures in Clayton and Chloe's room, but this time the lighting was quite right. Oh well, still got some cute shots, especially the picture with brother and sister looking at each other.

Chloe modeling the dress her mommy wore on her first birthday...fits her perfectly!

Silly babies having fun and oh how Clayton loves his Mickey Mouse!

Clayton and Chloe love their new backyard filled with toys. Our backyard has transformed from an adult, entertaining yard to a toddler's Heaven and I couldn't be happier.

Pure perfection...

Thank you to my incredible husband, family, and friends for the best surprise 30th (yikes!) birthday party! I had so much fun!
