Clayton and Chloe started Preppy K right around the corner from our house. They are enjoying making new friends, learning, and adjusting to going to school five days a week. We just had parent teacher conferences and were so pleased and proud of both kids.
Clayton is extremely social. He's super well-liked and makes it a point to know everyone. I think every mom has shared that her daughter has a crush on Clay. He's become super inquisitive, needs to know and understand everything backwards and forwards, he doesn't like to be wrong or make mistakes and is definitely the in-charge sibling. Clay loves challenge and competition in academics and athletics. He excelled in soccer on the Stormtroopers, scoring at least one goal every game. Clay had a great season with Daddy as his coach and several friends on his team. He continues to challenge me daily as sometimes I believe he thinks he's my equal, but I thank God every day for him. Clayton is the most loving, genuine, kind-hearted little boy.
Chloe is creative and abstract. The world is not black and white for Chloe. It's full of rainbows, sparkles, flowers, and lots of pink! She loves pretend play at school, spending most of her time playing "house" in the kitchen with her little friends. Ms. Langsdale shared that Chloe is very inclusive. She looks for the child that doesn't have a place or friend to play with and brings the child with her to play. I adore Chloe's kind heart. She loves learning and is improving managing her frustration when things are challenging. Chloe is excelling at dance. Chloe is now not he Broadway Babies company dance team at McCoy Rigby Conservatory of the Arts. We made a studio switch in October after a lot of prayer and conversation. My heart and mind just didn't feel that Chloe was at the studio that would be best for her. Chloe challenges me daily with her independence and desire to choose every part of her outfit from her rubber bands to her socks, but I love how girly she is and most importantly her sweet, kind, and loving little soul.
Easton officially started his academic career two days a week at Messiah Preschool. He loves his teacher (and so do we!), Mrs. Hanenberg. She's perfect for his high energy, no time for learning personality. Easton definitely struggled with adjusting to the rules and structure of the classroom, but thankfully Mrs. Hanenberg's patience and instruction has given him the tools he needs to be successful in his class. Easton has several little friends that he absolutely adores. He's so excited to see Nolan and Roger, especially each day. He literally runs up to them screaming their names and hugging them. He also melts my heart when I pick him up because he's so excited to see me. Despite my concerns, he's actually enjoying learning. Easton didn't know how to hold scissors, so his first cutting projects were a disaster, but now he's cutting on the lines. He's starting to enjoy coloring and crafting and even learning time with Mommy. He's achieved all of his speech goals, surpassing his age milestones, so his speech teacher is working on higher level skills until he's evaluated again in the spring. We are so proud of how well he talks now. Easton talks in full sentences and is just so adorable when he talks or tells a story. He even sings! His favorite songs to sing are Rudolph and Jingle Bells.
Our big family news is that we just renovated our backyard, putting a beautiful pool, spa, fire pit, and bbq in. It's gorgeous and truly a testament to Ryan's hard work for our family. It's his dream come true and already despite the cold, we are enjoying our new yard so much.
