Our Little Cupcakes are 1...Clayton and Chloe's 1st Birthday Party

We had a big party for Clayton and Chloe on Saturday, May 7th at the park in Papa Jim and Nonnie's neighborhood. The party was a blast. I was in crazy party planning mode for a few months prior and lost several hours of sleep planning the party, stressing out over the details, and preparing all of the decorations, but it was all so worth it. I think Martha Stewart would have been proud! So many of our dearest family and friends came to celebrate our little munchkins and showered them with love. All of the toddlers had a blast jumping in the bounce house, playing at the park, and "competing" in the obstacle course at Clayton's Carnival. The adults enjoyed a delicious lunch of tacos, beans, rice, and beer. The little ones especially loved filling their goody bags with treats from Chloe's Sweet Shoppe. Clayton and Chloe even enjoyed the fun by playing in the bounce house, crawling through the big tube in the obstacle course, and going down the slide! A big thank you to my family and Ryan's for helping me craft all of the decorations and setting up and taking down the party...I couldn't have done it without you!

We went to Yorba Regional Park to take pictures for Clayton and Chloe's one year birthday. Both babies were sick with a stomach bug and had meltdowns right before we left, but somehow lit up for the camera with beautiful smiles and giggles. Here's some of my favorites...

Clayton and Chloe's big day--May 5, 2011

We decided to take Clayton and Chloe to Disneyland for their 1st birthday. It was so much fun to experience a place both Ryan and I love through the eyes of our spunky little one year olds. We never knew how much there was to do for little ones at Disneyland. Fantasyland is full of age appropriate rides and then of course Small World is just magical. They both loved it...in fact Clayton cried when we had to take him off of the horse on the carousel. It was heartbreakingly adorable! Later on that night, our families came over to celebrate Clayton and Chloe's birthday. Papa Jim made them their favorite meal (and mine!), pasta and meatballs. For dessert, they both enjoyed a small bowl of vanilla ice cream. Chloe dug right in, but it took Clayton a few bites to get used to the cold texture. They were spoiled with gifts...their favorites were their sand and water table, mini pools ( a blue and pink one!), instruments, ball popper, tool bench, money, clothes, and Pottery Barn Anywhere chairs. They are two very loved babies!
